1. Where are we going? What’s the destination?
Destination: Eternity, life to the full, shalom peace, heaven, kingdom of God, God’s will being done on earth, relational restoration, salvation, abudance.
Current State: Brokeness, meaning crises, family disintegration, materialism, comfort and ease at other’s cost, gluttony, addiction, division, communism, secularism, Islam, oppression, suicidality, anxiety, fear, depression, pay check to pay check, uncertainty, hopelessness, loneliness,
2. Why are we going there? Why does it matter?
Because we can. Because life is better. Because it produces greater quality of life and happiness. because it’s truly human, because life is good and matters. Because Jesus died so that we could. Because without going there, the natural course is to devolve into chaos. Because our kids and the next generation are counting on us. Because of our inheritance. Because nobody else will take the responsibility. Because we were first loved.
3. How will we get there?
Education, Equipping and empowering
- Education - teach people all the things Jesus said and modelled. Educate on the possibility. Educate on the practices and tools needed for the journey. Educate about the stories of the past and the possibilities of the future. Educate about reality.
- Equip - Help people obtain and develop the tools necessary for the journey. Explore new creative tools and how to use them. Get skillful at the timeless tools that have always worked. Give people the ability to do it on their own
- Empower - motivate them, set people free, honour them, celebrate them, remind them that they can when others and their flesh lies to time. Create spaces and opportunities to act.
4. What can THEY do to help the vision come to pass
All relationships require at least two committed parties. There is no getting there for them or for us, in it’s entirety, without everyone on board or participating. Get educated - learn who you are, what you can do, and how you can do it here and now. Get equipped - try and practice. Get empowered - say yes to the risky adventure and go.
